Frigidaire Symmetry Double Oven {Recipe: Soft Honey Wheat Rolls}

Over the last couple of months I have been enjoying my new Frigidaire Symmetry Double Oven. I have been baking and cooking all sorts of things. (Granola, Homemade Rolls, Pizza, Cookies, Pies, Cakes and more).

I do have to admit I'm still learning the in's and out's of this beautiful stove, but slowly I'm getting it all figured out. A couple weeks back I made these wonderful Soft Honey Wheat Rolls to go with our dinner.

While the rolls were in the oven rising the kids wanted pizza. I told them they would have to wait until the rolls were done baking before I could add the pizza. Silly me I had totally forgotten that I had a double oven.

I had the rolls rising and then baking in the upper oven while I cooked a pizza for the kids in the lower oven. I was playing around with the pizza feature and was totally shocked that it had two settings, one for frozen pizza and one for fresh pizza. How cool is that? I can't wait to make homemade pizza with "Fresh Setting"

Christmas was also the first holiday that I could cook all my dishes in the oven at the same time! Thank you Frigidaire Symmetry Double Oven. I cooked a 15lb turkey in the upper oven (each oven can hold up to a 28 lb turkey).

And all the side dishes were cooked together in the lower oven. I had plenty of space and everything cooked up evenly. I never realized how much I needed a two ovens until now. Having the new Frigidaire Symmetry Double Oven really made my life so much easier over the holidays.

Before I go I wanted to share the recipe for these yummy Soft Honey Wheat Rolls. I also wanted to include a link to a video on how to shape the perfect dinner roll. I use this method for perfectly round rolls every time.

Soft Honey Wheat Rolls

Ingredients:
1 1/2 - cup all-purpose flour
1 - cup Gold Medal white whole wheat flour
3 - tablespoons honey, divided
1 - pkg. (1/4 oz or 2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
1/2 - teaspoon salt
3/4 - cup warm water (120 to 130 degrees)
2 - tablespoon butter, melted + additional 1 tablespoon to brush on rolls

Directions:
In a large bowl, combine whole wheat flour, 1 cup all purpose flour, 2 tablespoons honey, yeast and salt.

Add water and 2 tablespoons melted butter; beat on medium speed for 3 minutes or until smooth. Add additional 1/2 cup all purpose flour to form a soft dough.

Turn onto a lightly floured surface; knead until smooth and elastic, about 4-6 minutes. Shape into a ball, cover dough and let rest about 10 minutes.

Divide dough into 12 pieces. Shape each into a ball. Place in a greased 9-inch round baking pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes.

Bake at 375 degrees for 11 - 14 minutes or until lightly browned. Combine 1 - tablespoon honey with 1 - tablespoons melted butter and brush on warm rolls before serving.
