Easy Steak Pizzaiola ~ Potluck Sunday
My favorite food to eat by far is southern food. But if you ask me what else I like to eat, well that's simple Asian and Italian Food.
I pretty much will eat just about anything but those are the ones on the top of my list. Pasta is my major weakness so it's no surprise Italian was on my list of favorites.
Today I wanted to share a simple Italian recipe for Steak Pizzaiola. I don't know about you but when I hear the words Steak Pizziaola the first thing that immediately comes to mind is Raymond from the TV Show "Everybody Loves Raymond".
If you have seen the show then you know this is Raymond's favorite dish. What is Steak Pizzaiola exactly? Well it's steak that is smothered with a zesty tomatoey pizzaiola sauce and then topped with cheese just like a pizza.
I found this recipe for Easy Steak Pizzaiola on the Mr. Food website. It was about 8 years ago so I have had this in my recipe file for quite some time now.
If you love peppers, onions and mushrooms then you're going to love this meal. The best thing about this recipe is that the whole dish is cooked in one skillet, so it doesn't get any easier than that.
Throw on a quick pot of pasta and you have dinner in a snap. Any pasta will do I chose Linguini but angle hair, thin spaghetti or even egg noodles would be fine.

I also chose to use chuck eye steaks, because that's our favorite cut of meat. Finish off this recipe with some hot crusty bread and a salad and dinner is served.
In a large skillet, heat the oil over medium-high heat. Add the onion and bell pepper and saute for 5 to 7 minutes, or until tender. Season the steaks on both sides with the onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper. Push vegetables to edge of pan. Place steaks in pan and brown them for 2 minutes on each side. Add the diced tomatoes,
and cook for 5 minutes. Reduce the heat to low, uncover skillet, and simmer for 7 minutes. Sprinkle cheese over the steaks and simmer for 2 to 3 minutes, or to desired done ness.
