West Plains Wunderwoman Triathlon

This past Sunday we arrived at Medical Lake in Washington state around 7am approximately two hours before the race start. It was drizzling and cold which is a shock to everyone who knows eastern Washington weather in August, it's typically hot. Even though we arrived early, there were many racers there setting up in transition and getting ready for the race. I will never beat the triathletes to a race start! Even when I race I'm typically late, I should probably take a clue from these organized people.

Anyway, the race was well set up, the transition area clearly marked with gates to show racers which way to go. Ende Sports does a great job with these events, I am so happy that they are adding to the race scene in the NW. I don't have any photos of the day but there were plenty of extras there for the racers including a fire truck rigged to make pizzas (David's Pizza I think) with signs that said "pizza emergency" and even better, free osteoporosis screening for the ladies. We had a great time chatting with the racers and even though the weather sucked, people seemed happy with the event. I hope to be back next year, these all ladies events are a blast!
