Messing with Me
Anyway I don't have much to talk about since I'm on the down low, the only thing going on in my world is the animals are messing with me. The little cat will play with anything on my bedside table, knocking things around in morning and taking my elastic hair bands downstairs and putting them in the dog's water dish. Bill has tons of great stuff to play with on his side of the bed like ear plugs and lip balm but everything over there remains untouched. Just my stuff gets messed with.
Last night the little cat was passed out on the dog's bed in front of the fireplace and we started our nightly ritual of letting the dog out for one last bathroom break before bed. Just as I opened the back door to let the dog out the little cat went flying through the door and into the night. Then the dog does his thing which includes walking half way out on the deck, checking to see if we're watching him and then standing there waiting to be told once again to go to the bathroom. If you don't tell him to go, he'll just come back to the door. He likes to be told twice.
Eventually we got everyone in the house and in bed but I couldn't sleep last night. I tossed and turned until 2am and then Bill gave me some cough syrup with codeine and I slept for about 3 hours before waking up and tossing and turning again. Bill slept in the other room so the dog slept with me and after the alarm went off a few times the cat jumped on the bed with us and decided to starting "nursing" the dog. He will let her pretend nurse and kneed him a few times before giving her the heave-ho. I said, "How humiliating Marshall" and we got out of bed.
The trip downstairs first thing in the morning is always a stampede to the food dishes. Marshall stomped on the baby cat (on purpose I'm sure) and she let out a cry so I yelled at him and told him to go outside. As I fed the kitties the dog sat at the door, looking so sad and sorry that I let him back in and fed him. He drools if you make him wait too long.
My one true enjoyment out of this is I'm usually first out of bed so I can always send the dog back to wake up Bill. The dog likes to step all over him and lick his face and lay on him. That makes it all worth it. I hope I can sleep tonight. As soon as I feel better I'm treating myself to a mango margarita. Cheers.
