My experience with Public Speaking
I define public speaking as all kind of interaction with people using language. My experience with public speaking has faced quite a lot of ups and downs. At certain situations, like at home with parents or some close friends, I am very comfortable to speak.
Other times, during hang-outs where there are a lot people, I may not be so extrovert. However, during a presentation or a performance (one which had a lot of rehearsals), you would not be finding me sitting quitely at a corner. I am rather active in such circumstances. In fact, I have hosted quite a few shows back in my school days. On the contrary though, I am not so good at prompt speeches.
Speaking in groups varies a lot from person to person for me. If the group consists of family and really close friends, I will be the most talkative of the bunch. On the other hand, if there are unknown people or even known people with whom I am not acquainted enough, I decide not to speak unless I must. So, in a nutshell, I am more of an introvert.
Being a student of English version background, I am sorry to say I am neither too good nor too bad in English or Bangla. I often find it difficult to express myself completely in any one language. So, in informal situations, I prefer to incorporate both language while speaking. However, in more formal situations, like in a class presentation, I try my best to convey my message using one language, preferably English. So all in all, my public speaking experiences varies a lot and depends on a ton of aspects. I prefer writing over speaking.
