Cycas is a one of the beautiful ornamental live plants.Cycas is a very ancient plant it grows very slowly. It is mainly used for decorate gardens.It likes mature sunlight for its growing. Cycas revoluta is also called as Kangi Palm covered with snow.
GERMINATION GUIDE
Cycus is very easy to germinate if the seeds are fresh and new collection.
Use a flat seedling tray and its depth will be 5 inch or make a a bed on ground with sand what every you like . Make sure you have plenty of holes in it for good water drainage when you are using seedling tray.
For your media take equal quantity of sand, soil and vermicompost. Then mix all the three ingredients into one container.Sow the big seed sand cover with mixed ready seedling media.
Sprinkle diluted fungicide water (2gm in 1 liter water) after sowing the seeds. Check frequently for keep moist the seeds until sprout.It will takes 25 to 40 days for germination. Keep the temperature warm cover the seeds any black polythene rapper or can use any coconut leaves. Minimum warm, above 60ºF (15.5ºC), is needed inside the container and it should be placed in sunny area.
CARING
Before planting the seeds, make sure that your seeds are clean by the fungicide water because a little fungus can be harmful for seeds.
WATERING
Use watering as its required.
After spouting can re-pot with sandy soil.
