Soaking seeds in water overnight prior to planting may speed germination, but nasturtium seeds sprout best when the soil is warm. Poke seeds into the soil about 3 cm deep and 8 cm apart. Thin to 30 cm apart in all directions.
Mix seeds in a growing medium, place in a freezer bag, keep moist, then stratify by refrigeration for two to three weeks.Nasturtium is a easy plant to grow. Put two seeds (1" deep) in each pot and grow them under lights or in a bright location, such as a south-facing window.Use peat pots. Germination time: one to three weeks in the light. Temperature 75°F (24°C). Seven or eight weeks in advance. Transplant outdoors in the last month of spring. It takes about 10 to 12 days for nasturtiums to germinate.
